Vintage Riffs Entertainment is here to give you a sophisticated alternative for your upscale event. We call it “The Cure for the Common DJ”. Simply put, we specialize in the kind of music that is expected where class and sophistication are present.
Vintage Riffs Entertainment only plays Jazz, big band, mid-century vocalists, Exotica and bachelor pad music. We don’t bring any contemporary music with us to the gig. We don’t play hip hop, classic rock or alternative. The DJ doesn’t even own an Usher CD.
Although DJ Riff has an extensive record collection, all performances are done using the highest-fidelity CDs, to ensure the cleanest, crispest sound. However, if your party requires that extra nuance of vinyl for a specifically era-accurate event, records can be used for an additional fee.
Vintage Riffs Entertainment is available for events in most of Broward County, Palm Beach County north to Boca Raton, and parts of Miami. Further areas incur an additional travel fee. If your event is outside of Broward, Palm Beach or Maimi-Dade County, please email us for information.

Our History
Vintage Riffs Entertainment is a scion of Star Dust Productions, a vintage-themed theater company that provided private party and public performance entertainment in the Atlantic City, NJ are for over a decade. Founded by Christopher “Riff” Pinto in 1989, Star Dust Productions (aka Star Dust Mystery Theater) performed at hundreds of locations in the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas. Entertainment consisted of murder mystery dinner shows, staged old-time radio shows, jazz-themed theater, customized mysteries for private events, DJ entertainment, live music entertainment, and improv comedy. Performances were held in venues from Atlantic City casinos to upscale restaurants to small theaters and private events. Every performance was “vintage themed”…set in a mid-century decade, utilizing the best music, costumes, and styles of the 1920s through 1960s.
Riff and his wife Colleen moved to the Fort Lauderdale area in 2000, and continued to do select private events. Soon other projects drew attention away from the live performances (Riff began writing Noir-style paranormal mystery novels, Colleen developed another entertainment company more suited to the area). But Riff never lost his love of mid-century music, and continued to provide DJ entertainment for friends and work associates.
